FAQ
1. The most recent was the sinking of Sarita (boat) in 2019. Though we as humans saw this as a disaster it turned out for the sake of the story, it was merely a delivery to the new school of fish! What school doesn’t need supplies?! Laptop, trunks for storage, pirate costumes, musical instruments, record player, culinary equipment!
2. Back in 2000-2001 when battling with the county of Los Angeles in order to keep our beloved llamas! We did manage, with the help of our community, to reclassify llamas from exotic animals to odorless livestock. This is how the Federal Dept. of Agriculture has llamas classified.
Llamas are very gentle, intelligent animals. Caring for them, we were taught many lessons. For example, llamas heat stress very easily. It was vital to keep them cool. We had them sheared early spring. Also donated the wool where the kids carded and spun the wool into yarn. We also installed misters and fans in their corral.
In the story, with our earth warming up the llamas need to escape to the sea, where they morphed into Seallamas!
3. When my son was a toddler, I was working as an Arrowhead water driver. I would stop into his daycare provider during the day, between a few of my deliveries. She was a loving Japanese woman. She cared for 8 other toddlers. One was her son. I stopped in one day and her mother was helping feed all the children. There was a circle of high chairs in the kitchen. The children were of varied cultures. I remember thinking it looked like a United Nations meeting! All the children were laughing and playing with each other passing food back and forth. It was one of the sweetest scenarios I’ve ever witnessed. I had the thought at the moment that as parents our biggest job was to not ruin them! They were perfect. No hate, just pure joy.
